Hoppy Spring

002

I am hoping it is spring where ever you are because it sure is not spring here.  Cold and rain.  I created some cards using my Silhouette Cameo this week.  This cutie is a bunny that is cut in 2 pieces and layered.

001
I found this cute Spring paper at Hobby Lobby. I wish I had gotten more.  It has all kinds of spring words.  These cards were so simple. 2 cuts and I was done.  I purchased the bunny from the Silhouette store.

Here is another card created from a cut file I purchased at the Silhouette store.  I call it Bunny Behinds.
The original was small so I just edited it to make it bigger.

In my last post I talked about the year long pay it forward challenge I am doing for my family.  March everyone needed to recycle and reuse.  Donate to a charity, pick up garbage along the road or anything they could think of that would be repurposing. Many of you had requested to see my monthly project.  I talked about the family pay it forward challenge HERE. This was one of my March  repurpose project.

I sent this to my daughter's boyfriend.  It is a recycled plastic jar that had fruit in it.  There are 4 bags of jelly beans and the same bunny from my card.  I sent it to him and he thoroughly enjoyed.

Hope you are having a fantastic day where ever you may be.

When Pigs Fly

003

I am pretty sure you can all agree with me when I say that stampers are the kindest bunch.  Every year my friend and fellow stamper sends out a pig of some sort on March 1st.  Pigs have a special meaning to her.  This year was no different.  She always has a creative way to send it too.  I opened my mailbox on March 1st and this is what I saw.

002

This year she sent her flying pigs in a little white mailbox.  It was all taped up with flying piggy tape.

004

This little flying pig has been around the world many times.  He is solar powered and is like the energizer bunny all day.  He keeps flying and flying.  I just love it.

I sent her this to thank her along with a little flying pig for her garden...

001

This was all created with my Silhouette Cameo.  The Thank You tag was a freebie.  I am sorry I don't remember which site was offering it.  The pig is cut in white then in pink for the overlay.

Thank you Lorraine for always making me feel special.

Fixer2

This week the Teapot Tuesday over on Splitcoaststampers was for a friend of mine here in NC.  She loves to garden and has a woodworking shop. I remember the first time we met and she told me all about the class she took for woodworking. She was the only female in the class.  She has created toys for fundraising auctions with what she learned in the class.  She is fighting the fight of cancer right now.  Her faith will get her through this.

Fixer3

I thought this little sweetie from Mo's Digital Pencil called The Fixer was perfect.  I cut the fence and sun out with my Silhouette Cameo.  I hope she feels all the love the teapotters are sending her way this week.

Have a fabulous weekend my friends.  75 degrees here so I will be in my garden.

Random Acts of Kindness

chickadees

This year I took on a big family project.  We are calling it the Pay It Forward monthly event.   Each month I come up with a RAK and send all the details to my family.  I am miles away from home so it has been a fun way to keep in contact.  January was find a pretty bottle and add $5 each month until Christmas.  We will then all pool our money together for a needy family.  February I sent them all a cookie cutter and cookie mix.  They had to bake cookies and give them to a nonrelative.  March was green month.  Recycle anything.  :)  I chose to recycle a large plastic jug filled with jelly beans I sent to my daughter.  I will show pictures next week.  This next month is going to be "for the birds"  I have a recipe for Suet or a toilet paper tube covered in bird seed and peanut butter.  So I created this birdie post card to send with the instructions.

popped up birds

I stamped the birds on watercolor paper and colored with watercolor markers.  Then I stamped the birds again and colored with Copics, cut them out and popped them up.postcard stamp

I stamped a postcard stamp I got from Hobby Lobby.  It is made my Penny Black but I was very disappointed in it.  No matter how I stamped it would not give me a good impression.  So frustrating as it was not a cheap stamp.  I attached it to the back of my postcards.

Blue jay

Here is another one I created.  Just a hodge podge of background colors. I am not as happy with this one but didn't want all my hard work to go to waste.  I can't tell you where either of these stamps came from.  I was cleaning out my boxes and came upon the Chickadee one and the Blue Jay one was a gift from my friend.  I am hoping they enjoy them.  I have 7 families participating so it was a lot of work to color them all. I love the way they turned out.  My photography is lacking these days so in real life they are much better.

Vultures

Speaking of birds.  These ugly birds were migrating through NC this last week.  There were 20 of them in the trees next to my house.  I do not like them at all. I call them turkey vultures.  They are so ugly.  LOL

Hope you are all having a great week.  I will be back with more soon.  If you have a chance to do the Teapot Tuesday challenge over on Splitcoaststampers this week it is my friend Linda that is the recipient.  She could use a little sunshine in her mailbox.

Happy Anniversary

Close Up

This week it was my hubby's parents anniversary.  They celebrated 61 years of marriage.  They are the cutest couple.  I created this card to send to them. My father in law has had some health issues so they are home bound and love to get mail.  My hubby told me the other day my MIL has kept every letter and card I have sent to her.  It will be fun to go back someday and read and look at them all.  Letter writing is a lost art.  My son doesn't even know how to read or write cursive.  So sad.

I am still trying to regain my coloring skills.  This sweet little image is by Heather Ellis. I love these little ones. I cut the card and envelope using a file from the Silhouette Online Store.  I am obsessed.

I even created the envelope using matching papers.  I am still learning with my Silhouette Cameo but the possibilities are endless.  I saved up for this machine for over a year and love it. It is worth every penny.

I caved and went back to Flickr.  I just like the way it displays my photos.  I saw over on Splitcoaststampers they have a tutorial on photographing your cards by Joanne Basile.  I need to check it out. Here is a link if you are interested: Photo Tutorial.

Teapot Love

I am having so much fun with my new Silhouette Cameo.  This past week I created two cards with this adorable little teapot.  It is available in the Silhouette store.  This image is Wryn Grow a Little Love from Tiddly Inks. I colored her with Copics.  Her dress is covered in glitter to hide an oops.  It takes a lot of practice to get back into the Copics rhythm.

The card inserts down into the teapot.  I added a button to the top so it was easier to pull out.

I created two cards with this Silhouette cut file.  One was pink and one was red.  I just love this teapot and I know I will use it over and over again.

I am really disliking the way that Blogger makes my pictures so blurry.  I used to upload to Flickr but have exceeded my limit there and refuse to pay the money to upgrade.  Any suggestions what is compatible with Blogger?  I need to do some research.  Plus set up a better system for taking pictures.  Have a great weekend everyone.
